Church Wedding at Yaxley, Peterborough

Laura and Steven booked me to photograph their wedding day back in 2014 shortly after I photographed Steven’s brother’s wedding. Over the last 2 years we have chatted via Facebook and email and had a fantastic engagement photoshoot in the Bluebell woodland. I love that over that time we have become firm friends and I have really got to know their personalities, this has allowed me to really capture unique pictures of their wedding day images.

The week leading up to their wedding day was frightful and I watched the weather report with baited breath hoping it would improve, thankfully mother nature was on our side and the sun shone bright.  Laura and Steven married at the beautiful St Peters church in Yaxley, near Peterborough and I can honestly say that the church warden and the vicar were two of the most helpful I have met to date and this allowed me record the wedding in true documentary style.

​Laura was accompanied down the isle by her dad and 4 beautiful bridesmaids, to meet a nervous Steven at the alter.

The service was full of emotion; tears, laughter and lots of love filled the church as guests looked on and watched Steven and Laura make their vows.

After the service the weather stayed fine and we were able to make use of the beautiful church grounds to capture stunning formal wedding photographs that the new Mr and Mrs Ireland and their families will treasure for years to come. In keeping with my style Laura and Steven had specifically requested a mixture of traditional and fun wedding portraits to record their day so confetti and garter shots were an important part of the proceedings.

Guests then headed off to enjoy drinks at the reception venue whilst Steven and Laura remained behind to capture some stunning wedding day Portraits. Sending the guests ahead allows for the new couple to enjoy a little time out from the craziness of all the congratulations and hustle and bustle of the day, it is often the only time out that happens all day.

Steven and Laura traveled in the fantastic camper van to the Admiral Wells Pub, in Holme, just outside Peterborough where they enjoyed a marquee reception and fantastic buffet.  The couple’s attention to detail in the planning was fantastic, everything was a team effort, right down to the jointly planned duel wedding cake, traditional on one side and marvel themed on the other, to add a splash of the grooms personality.

As the day drew to a close Mr and Mrs Ireland enjoyed a fantastic evening reception and disco with family and friends and marked the start of their married life together with a traditional first dance.

It truly was a pleasure to capture Laura and Stevens wedding day and to see lots of familiar faces at their wedding. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day and letting me capture your precious memories.

All that remains to ask is Brother number 3, Christopher when is it your turn?
