Covid 19 Health and Safety

The health and well being of my clients has always been my top priority and so as we move towards reopening the studio on the 12th April I feel it imperative to be transparent regarding the risk assessments and extra measures I have implemented to remain Covid secure.   I want my photography clients to be assured that I have taken every precaution possible  to adhere to guidelines and keep everyone safe.  The government have announced that Photography studios can reopen form the 15th June.  The Covid secure rules state that where possible we must put in procedures to remain 2 metres apart but where this is not possible appropriate measures must be implemented to manage transmission risk.

Below I have outlined a detailed breakdown of my new studio procedures.  These procedures are across the board for all sessions unless stated otherwise.

All studio surfaces are thoroughly sanitised between sessions, and only 1 session will take place per day.  All clothes, blankets and backdrops used during each session will be washed before being reused and all props will be sanitised.  Headbands and fluff layers that can not be machine washed will have 48 hours between use.  Dettol All in one Disinfected spray will be used after each session to sanitise the fabric seating.

For the time being no refreshments will be provided, please bring any drinks or snacks with you to your photoshoot.   Please take your rubbish home with you.

Should your baby require feeding during your session please note that I will be unable to provide hot water or containers for this purpose.  If your baby is unable to drink room temperature milk please ensure you bring a bottle warmer or a flask of hot water with you.

Please only bring items into the studio that are necessary for your session.

Please ensure that any outfit changes your bring with you have been washed prior to attending the studio and are kept in a separate bag from other personal items before attending.

I will change into fresh clothes prior to your session and my hair will be tied back.

Please remove your shoes at the door of the studio.

Please try to adhere to 2 metre distancing where possible.  The following procedures will help with social distancing.

The studio will be available for maternity photos, Newborn sessions, Little sitter photoshoots and cake smash sessions. Family photoshoots can go ahead in line with goverment guidance regarding numbers of people indoors on the date of your session.

Hazard tape marks 2 metres from the area where your child will be placed for their photos (excluding newborns).  I will remain behind this line and ask that parents remain close to the backdrop and near their child at all times.

Maternity sessions will be limited to the expectant parents and older siblings only.  I would also encourage anyone booking a maternity shoot to consider an outdoor session as an alternative.

Newborn Sessions –  The nature of newborn sessions mean that 2 metre social distancing is not possible, however to reduce the number of bodies within the space only family members who are being photographed will be permitted in the studio.  For sibling photographs I ask that someone is available to take them home immediately following the family and sibling photos.  Only Mum and Dad will be permitted to remain for the duration of a newborn session.

I already wash my hands thoroughly before and after sessions and use hand sanitiser throughout.  There will be additional hand sanitiser available in the studio and clients will be asked to sanitise their hands on arrival.  There are hand washing facilities within the studio and I will wash my hands prior to your arrival.

I have a supply of cloth masks for my own personal use, a fresh mask will be available for each session and worn at all times by myself  within the studio.  These will be machine washed after every session.   I also have face shields available as an alternative for me to wear in situations where older babies / children become distressed or unresponsive towards me because of my mask.

Handling and posing will be kept to a minimum and parents will be given the option to undertake wrapping and posing if they wish to do so.

I have a supply of disposable masks available for your use in the studio, you will be required to wear a face mask throughout your time in the studio.  This may be removed whilst in front of the camera only.

Bathroom facilities are available and will be cleaned thoroughly before / after every session.

Please do not attend the studio if any of you are unwell.   Likewise if I am unwell or if any of my family are displaying symptoms of Covid-19 I will contact you to reschedule your session.   Please ensure that you have been symptom free of any illness for 72 hours prior to attending the studio however please follow covid-19 isolation rules if you have contracted the illness.

I will undertake Covid lateral Flow tests on a twice weekly basis.  Should a positve result be given I will self isolate and see a Full covid test to confirm the result.  Only reopening the studio if a negative test is received or after 10 days self isolation.

Please also do not attend the studio if you have been in contact with anyone with Covid -19 symptoms 10 days prior to your photoshoot.

You will have been sent an electronic copy of the portrait contract via email prior to attending your session.  Please ensure you have digitally signed this and returned it to me.  Paper copies will not be available in the studio and we can not proceed with your photoshoot until this has been completed.

The health and wellbeing of everyone is my top priority so I ask that we all work together to maintain a safe studio environment for capturing your memories.

Thank you

Marie
