Wedding Photography – Marriot Hotel, Peterborough

Jake and Beki’s wedding photography had been booked in my diary over 2 years in advance so it was wonderful when their wedding day finally arrived.  They chose The Marriot Hotel in Peterborough as the location for their day, with it’s beautiful gardens this hotel makes a lovely setting for a wedding.

Whilst Beki and her bridesmaids prepared for the day, emotions were a little crazy with bets on who would cry first, I think Beki was the winner.  Emotions continued to run high throughout the day with tears from the father or the bride, the groom and Maid of Honour all being noted and captured on camera as part of the couples wedding photography collection.   I think the speeches finished everyone off (including me) with noticeable some of the best I’ve heard (and I’ve sat through a lot of wedding speeches).

The wonderful summer we have been experiencing this year did not disappoint and the sun shone bright throughout the day meaning the lovely gardens were taken full advantage of for some fun garden games during the reception.  The wonderful weather also allowed us to capture some wonderful wedding photography in the gardens,  a combination of candid and posed photos were captured throughout the day.

I would especially like to thank Mr and Mrs Mckenzie for trusting me when I suggested that they should request that guests took no photos when they left the ceremony or during the first dance.   The professional Wedding Photography is noticeable improved by the absence of phones and cameras, instead these are replaced with smiling emotional guests watching the happy couple.    Beki and Jake, thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer, here is your wedding day story.

Lincolnshire wedding photographer

Danielle and Mark have been clients of mine for a number of years.  I have had the honour of watching their 3 beautiful boys grow up and have provided their Family photography throughout.  When an existing client asks you to be their wedding photographer it is something extra special as you know that they are truly happy with the service and quality of work you deliver.

Mr and Mrs Burton chose to marry at Whaplode Church and enjoyed a reception at Whaplode Manor.  It was wonderful to capture a wedding in my local village church, the first I have had the privilege of doing since moving to Whaplode 18 months ago.  It really is a beautiful church.

The wedding ceremony was one of the most emotional I have captured to date, with Mark being the first in tears, quickly followed by Danielle and no doubt many of the guests.  Tears truly were a theme of the day with another round following during the heartfelt speeches later in the evening.  So much laughter throughout the day too, especially when the cheeky flowergirl decided to give each of the groomsman a smack on the bum for flashing their pants!

The amazingly hot summer we are experiencing this year ensured that Danielle and Mark had a gloriously sunny wedding and allowed us to make use of the amazing gardens both at Whaplode Church and Whaplode Manor to create both formal and natural wedding photography for them to treasure in years to come.

Thank you to Mr and Mrs Burton and all their guests for making me feel so welcome,  Here is a little preview of your wedding photography collection which will follow shortly.

Mr and Mrs King Wedding Photography

Whaplode Manor, Spalding, Lincolnshire

Vicki and James King have spent 17 years as a couple before getting married in June at the beautiful Whaplode Manor  in near Spalding, Lincolnshire.  It was a pleasure to do their wedding photography and to share and capture their perfect wedding day.    The day was filled with unbelievable love and laughter all day long and the 7 bridesmaids certainly kept me entertained with their antics during the morning preparations.

The day was scorching hot and Vicki must have been melting in her stunning wedding dress but this did not stop the laughter and tears flowing.   Sweet William the ring-bearer had everyone in stitches during the ceremony when he started to recite the vowels and the speeches were truly memorable, I’ll admit to shedding a few tears of laughter behind my camera.

Mr and Mrs King had opted for a wedding package which included a pre-wedding shoot which meant that by the time we got to work on their bridal portraits they were experts at following my guidance.  I think even James (who hates his photo being taken) did a fantastic job of posing for his wedding photos.    Hopefully James will agree that the pre-wedding shoot helped him to feel more relaxed and confident during the more formal portraits created as part of their wedding photography package.

Both Vicki and James wanted to ensure their were lots of natural candid photographs to help tell the story of their day, these were easy to capture with the delightful relaxed and happy wedding guests, lots of laughs, tears and  happy moments captured on camera throughout the day.

I’d also like to thank Emma from Little Cherubs photography for being a fantastic second shooter and helping to create some stunning wedding photography in the beautiful hay bale field opposite Whaplode Manor, and thank you to James and Vicki for trusting me when I suggested heading into the field.

Mr and Mrs King thank you for choosing me to capture your wedding photography.  Here are some highlights of their magical day.

Mr and Mrs Molson Wedding Photography

Jayne and John have had a bumpy ride to reach their wedding day and it was a true delight to provide Wedding Photography for their special day on 22nd June 2018 at The Woodlands Hotel, Spalding, Lincolnshire.  Jayne and John have been a couple for over 25 years however decided to tie the knot ready for Jayne’s retirement this coming September.  The wedding day was originally set for December 2017 and everything was in place.   The guests arrived, Jayne settled into the hotel and began preparing for the day, even I had arrived at the venue and began photographing wedding details and the guests arriving, however everyone at the hotel was unaware that the groom had been taken ill and rushed to hospital a couple of hours before they were due to marry.  Sadly the wedding ceremony had to be called off and attention turned to John’s health.   It was a relief to hear a few days later that he was on the mend and would make a full recovery.

John took full responsibility for organising the 2nd wedding day, taking care of all the details right down to making personalised order of service cards, sending out new wedding invitations and choosing Jaynes beautiful new wedding bouquet.   The new wedding date was scheduled to be a selective guest list with a wonderful intimate feel and only 21 guests.  This did not prevent the couple and their guests enjoying a day full of love and laughter and creating wonderful memories with their nearest and dearest.  The wedding breakfast was served around one large table which added to the intimacy of the day.

It was an absolute delight to share in Mr and Mrs Molson’s special day and capture their love for one enough.  Here are some highlights of their wedding photography.

2017 in review

1st January 2018

Well what an amazing year I have had at Slice of Life Photography. A record number of clients have stepped through the doors, I have relocated the studio close to Spalding in Lincolnshire and I continue to love every minute of what I do. Not every session has been easy, there have challenges along the way. Children who don’t want to co-operate, babies suffering colic or that don’t want to sleep, rain and freezing temperatures to battle on wedding days, but the end result has always been worth the persistence and determination. I absolutely love creating beautiful newborn photos for you to treasure, capturing you little ones birthday with a cake smash photoshoot and transforming your little ones into timeless fairies and elves. Here are the highlights from the most amazing year to date.

Newborn Photography

I have had the pleasure of recording the arrival of 54 newborn babies this year. Capturing their early days with timeless beautiful baby photos in my Lincolnshire Photography studio. Some babies have slept through their newborn photoshoot and others have watched me intently and been far too interested in what I’ve been doing to close their eyes, but each and every one has been a wonderful precious gift and a delight to photograph.

Little Sitters

A few of my newborns have returned for the little sitter part of their Milestones Photography package and other Little sitters have visited for the first time. I love to capture sitting babies as it is a great opportunity to capture their emerging personalities as they start to see the world for a different vantage point.

Cake Smash Photoshoots

Cake smash photoshoots are a great way to record your baby turning one. As well as 16 1st birthdays this year, I have also captured my first 2nd birthday and mustn’t forget capturing my own cheeky 11 year old as well. A fun photoshoot for any age.

Bluebell Mini Photoshoots

The Spring time is one of my favourite times of year to get outside and create some wonderful family memories during location photoshoots. This year 11 families joined me for sessions in the wonderful Bluebell wonderlands. The beautiful purple flowers making a wonderful setting for outdoor photography sessions and mark the start of spring for me.

Family Photoshoots

I have seen a rise in families visiting this year with 12 families joining me either in the studio or on location for an outdoor family photoshoot. It is lovely to be able to capture the whole family together; it’s so important to have pictures with Mummy and Daddy in too.

Maternity Photography

Bump Photoshoots are so precious. An opportunity to document your pregnancy and the life growing inside of you. 6 Mummyies have stepped into the studio to document their amazing bodies this year, all glowing in the beauty of pregnancy.

Fairy Photography

This year has seen my Fairy Photography grow massively, with the introduction of Elves and Fairy outfits for Mummies.   Fairy Photoshoots are held on limited dates throughout the year and every date sold out during 2017!  2018 fairy dates are already booking up and I cannot wait to create more magical Fine Art Fairy Portraits for you all.

Pet Photography

Pet Photography is an area I hope to expand during 2018.  Capturing our 4 legged family members is so important.  As I write this I am preparing to let my own fur baby go to sleep forever and it breaks my heart that she will no longer be here to greet you all, but I take comfort in the many amazing portraits I have of her.  Riley is the 1 fur baby that visited in 2017 and he was a dream to photograph.  Watch this space for details of Pet Portrait Days coming in 2018.

Christmas Photoshoots

Christmas is such a fun magical time and it is lovely to document the magic through photography. Many clients chose to document their little ones every Christmas as it is a great gift to share with family and document how they have grown each year.

Engagement and Wedding Photography

My 2017 journey in wedding photography will follow in a separate article, after I have completed the final 2017 wedding collection.  Just one couple chose to include a pre-wedding engagement shoot in their wedding package this year and together we chose to take advantage of the beautiful Bluebells to document this.  I hope that more couples will add an engagement photoshoot to their wedding packages during the 2018 and 2019 wedding seasons.  It is so wonderful to capture couples so much in love and allows us to work together ahead of the pressures of a busy wedding day.

Finally I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy new year and  to thank each and everyone of  you for the 134 sessions, 5 weddings, 1 prom and one Charity Ball that I have had the privilege of documenting throughout 2017.  Here is to an amazing 2018 x
