What has the last year meant for Slice of Life Photography?

Happy new year to you all!   I was honoured to see in the new year with the new Mr and Mrs Collins as we took in the Fireworks around Lincoln Cathedral as part of their wedding photography package.     A wonderful way to end a fantastic year for Slice of Life Photography.

2016 has seen my photography business go from strength to strength.  With the completion of my home studio near Peterborough on the Cambridgeshire / Lincolnshire boarder at the start of the year I have been able to offer a much more streamlined and professional service for studio photography.  I have worked hard to develop my skills and learn many new things through training with some of the world's leading photographers.  This training and hard work has paid off, resulting in my progression to an award winning photographer.  Winning awards for newborn photography, baby photography and wedding photography.  I am truly delighted to have been awarded each of the 9 awards and hope to build on this in 2017.  If you would like to view my award winning images please check them out here.

In April I undertook specialist training with a world renowned Newborn Baby Photographer and have thoroughly enjoyed putting these new skills to good use with the 17 Newborns I have met this year.  Building my skills as a newborn photographer is something I really hope to develop further in 2017 and I look forward to welcoming many more babies through my studio doors.

In May I invested in some training to help me develop my editing and styling to offer fantastic Fine Art Fairy Photography.  Something that has been a dream of mine for many many years.  I loved photographing the 30 Fairies that have since come through my studio door and I look forward to being able to photograh lots of little Elves in 2017 too.

In August I also undertook some outdoor photography training.  Skills I have since been able to apply to my location photography sessions and within my wedding photography.

Following on from the development within my skills I wanted to be able to support my clients to chose their images in a more personalised manner, helping them to select photographs and products that suit them and their homes.  This lead to the transition from an online ordering and viewing system, to each client receiving an In Person viewing appointment 2 weeks after their session.    After sessions client are welcomed back to view their fully edited photography collection on a calibrated screen so they can be sure that any prints or products ordered will be a direct colour match.  It also means that I am on hand to offer advice about what products may be most suitable for their individual requirements.

A look back on Photography Sessions during 2016!

2016 has been amazingly busy with 30 Fairy photoshoots, 6 Bluebell Mini location photography sessions, 17 Newborn baby photoshoots, 5 sitter photography sessions, 8 cake smashes photoshoots, 6 Family portraits, 2 maternity photography sessions, 1 pregnancy announcement, 2 school portraits, 1 Dog pet portrait, 1 graduation photography session, 2 christmas mini photography shoots, 1 Pantomime photographed, 1 dance show photographed, 2 engagement photography shoots, 1 gym competion photographed, 17 wedding captured and 1 wedding blessing photographed!

Thank you to all my wedding and studio clients for your continued support.

2017 promises to be just as amazing!  I have lots of exciting ideas to implement and more amazing training.  In May I am embarking on a busman's holiday!  A whole week of Photography practice and training.  I can not wait to see what the future holds :-)

To each and every one of my clients I want to say a huge thank you for the support you have shown me to date.  Here is to many more fantastic years ;-)   2017 is going to be epic!

Marie
