Award winning Wedding and Newborn Photographer

Since starting my photography business just over 3 years ago I have become more and more determined to better myself and develop my skills.  Not only do I have a thirst for learning but it is important to me that your wedding photos and baby pictures are of the highest possible standard.   Working from my purpose built garden Studio in Market Deeping, just outside Peterborough has allowed me to offer Newborn, Children and Family Photography in a relaxed and homely environment which in turn leads to more natural, relaxed photographs.

I attend regular training to learn new areas or build on the skills I already have and continually read and research new things.  2016 has seen me train with some of the worlds top photographers.  In April I spent 2 intense days with Kelly from Little Pieces Photography by Kelly Brown who has won photographer of the year many times in Australia.  This training really helped me home in my posing and styling for Newborn Photography.  In May I spent a fantastic day finally learning an area of photography that I had longed to develop.  Fran from Fran Stephenson Photography showed me the skills needed to create stunning Fairy Photos and last Sujata from But Natural Photography share her secrets for amazing outdoor portraits, something that I can apply to my wedding photography as well as outdoor family photography.  In 2017 I am spending a whole week in Lake district learning lots more techniques and I can not wait to get stuck in.

Along with this training I am a member of 2 professional bodies.  The Guild of Photographers and BANPAS (Baby and Newborn Photography Association).  Being apart of these allows me to tap into many learning resources and liase with like minded people which again helps me grow.  Part of the resources within BANPAS are tutorials and learning material to ensure the safe posing and care of Newborns during their baby photoshoot.

The Guild of Photographers run a monthly Image of the Month Award programme.  Each month members enter images of their choice and these are judged against competition criteria.  We are then able to seek feedback and advise on our images after awards have been released.  This feedback is extremely valuable as it allows us to evaluate our work and gain advise on how we can improve and develop.  Since joining the Guild I have entered several images and have been delighted to have received 9 Bronze Awards.  Bronze Awards are only awarded to images of a strong standard in this national competion (something to be proud of).  My target for 2017 is to grow further and work on receiving some Silver Awards.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my ramblings.  Here are my 9 award winning Images.
