Kaylea and Lee at The Haycock Hotel, Wansford

18th October 2016
I first me this lovely couple back in April 2015 when we met to chat about their plans and wedding photography. We hit it off straight away and I soon knew that it would be another fantastic wedding day and we would capture some amazing wedding photos for them to treasure always. They chose to marry at their local church in Yaxley, Peterborough, which was already a firm favourite of mine, with a wonderfully relaxed vicar and a great surrounding area for formal wedding photographs. The reception was held at The Haycock Hotel, Hansford, not far from Peterborough which has beautiful gardens and access down to the river ūüôā Whenever a wedding or reception is held at a venue that I have not worked at previously I ensure that I visit ahead of the day so that I can have a look around, meet the staff and plan suitable spots to use for the couple portraits of their wedding collection. I had heard many wonderful things about The Haycock and when I visited I was not disappointed. I instantly knew we were spoilt for choice with great backdrops to capture both relaxed and formal wedding images.
I attend regular training to learn new areas or build on the skills I already have and continually read and research new things. 2016 has seen me train with some of the world’s top photographers. In April, I spent 2 intense days with Kelly from Little Pieces Photography by Kelly Brown who has won photographer of the year many times in Australia. This training really helped me home in my posing and styling for Newborn Photography. In May, I spent a fantastic day finally learning an area of photography that I had longed to develop. Fran from Fran Stephenson Photography showed me the skills needed to create stunning Fairy Photos and last Sujata from But Natural Photography share her secrets for amazing outdoor portraits, something that I can apply to my wedding photography as well as outdoor family photography. In 2017 I am spending a whole week in Lake district learning lots more techniques and I cannot wait to get stuck in.
Everyone set of for the church in lots of time and I arrived to find a the church full of family and friends. I waited outside for the bridal cars to arrive and wonder how anxious Lee because by the delay caused due to one of the bridesmaid cars taking a detour?
The service was one of the most emotional I’ve witnessed and it is clear to see how much Kaylie and Lee adore each other and how happy all their family and friends were to watch them make their vows!
‚ÄčBack at the hotel we let the guests enjoy arrival drinks while I snuck off with the newly weds to create some magical wedding photos that I hope they will treasure always. They made capturing the love between them so easy, the intimacy and bond clear to see. We created a mixture of formal style couple portraits, some relaxed but emotional images and thanks to the random phone box library a great fun quirky wedding shot. Be sure to zoom in and note the titles of the book choices.
After the wedding breakfast the speeches were equally as emotional with lots of tears and laughter from everyone, include an extra heart felt speech from Maid of Honuor, sister of the Bride, Candice.
‚ÄčIt truly was a perfect day for the sweetest couple. Thank you for letting me share your day. Here is your story.

Barnsdale Hall, Rutland Wedding Photography Story

    13th October 2016
Dawn and Adam live local to me in Deeping and it was a pleasure to be asked to photograph their wedding day. They chose the stunning Barnsdale Hall, over looking Rutland water as the location for their special day. Barnsdale has breathtaking views across he lake and a calm tranquil feel about it. Dawn and Adam are a very relaxed couple and with cheeky Finley their son they make a beautiful friendly family. Prior to the wedding day Dawn and I discussed her wedding photos and her one request was for a photo on the veranda with the Lake as the backdrop. ‘No Problem’ I said, I’ve never had a wedding where we haven’t got outside yet!
When I arrived at Barnsdale Hall and joined Dawn and her fabulous bridesmaid’s everyone was very calm and relaxed and preparations were on schedule, however the weather was looking a little gloomy. I always remind my brides that rain on your wedding day is good luck but secretly hope that it is a passing shower and won’t dampen the spirit of the day! However once the rain started it did not stop and the wedding was set to be my wettest yet! Undeterred we improvised and moved the ceremony room around for formal group photographs and enjoyed a golf buggy ride across to the main building to make use of the beautiful reception and bridal suite for indoor bridal portraits. We even braved indoor confetti.
The ceremony and wedding breakfast were beautiful and I thank Dawn and Adam for including myself and Phillipa within your numbers for the meal. It was lovely to be able to chat to the guests and hear more about both of you. After a relaxed afternoon, with lots of fun and laughter, preparations got underway for the final formalities of the day, cutting the cake and first dance, however just as this was being organised I spotted the most beautiful sky. I always discuss with my couples how they would like to proceed in the event of this happening, explaining that it is a window of opportunity and sometimes we only have moments to capture the shot so ask if they would like me to order them outside if such a situation occurs. Thankfully Dawn and Adam had agreed to me ushering them outside and I truly believe that this one photograph will make up for all the rain off the day.
‚ÄčThank you Dawn and Adam for letting me share you day, here’s your wedding day story x x x

      6th October 2016
I have been friends with the bride for several years and we have shared many a crazy night on the dance floor and many crazy nights involving a bottle of vodka or two. We have picked each other up and laughed at our bruises the next day! Penny first introduced me to Matt on one of those many nights out and it was clear back then that they were a match made in heaven. It was a true honour when Penny asked me to be their wedding Photographer and extra special for me to be able to capture memories for friends.
They knew straight away they wanted to marry at Orton Hall Hotel, Peterborough and booked their chosen date 2 years ahead. As always the day came around very quick and before we knew it final preparations were under way. Penny and I discussed what wedding photos she wanted me to capture and I thank her for her wonderful kind words saying ‘I’ve seen your amazing photo’s, I trust you to decide’, thank you Penny, from the bottom of my heart, it means so much to me that you have so much faith in me to create a wedding photo gallery that you will love.

I found editing Penny and Matt’s wedding photos quite emotional. Seeing the emotion shine though in their photos, it is clear how in love they truly are. I love to capture the love and story within the wedding photos that I create. Penny and Matt here’s your story, I hope I’ve done you proud.

      Love you guys
